NEW PUPPY TRAINING

We all know how important the first 4 months of our puppy’s life are.

But did you know that damage may already have been done before you even get your 8-week old puppy that you have no control over? But this damage is reversible, don’t worry.

A very good example is, if the mother dog does not tell the pups off during the weaning stage, they have not been taught to inhibit their bite and this may become an issue later in life, but we can deal with this.

Although behavioural training is counter conditioning problem behaviours, it is just as important to teach your puppy early so that we can avert potential problems later in life. For example, we can condition your pup not to be frightened of fireworks or thunder. This is easier to achieve at the pups vital first 4 month period.
Puppy training is called operant conditioning (don’t worry about the jargon) and is teaching a dog to do something for the first time. Whereas behavioural training is called counter-conditioning to change a behaviour. So in this instance, we are teaching the pup to not be scared of………… the list is endless. By booking a puppy behavioural training session we can ensure that your pup grows up to be a well balanced, confident, happy dog that doesn’t have many of the issues that are common like many fears and separation anxiety.
